Tantara er et thrash metal band fra Re i Vestfold som spiller musikk i samme stil som oldschool thrash metal band som Megadeth, Slayer, Heathen, Metallica, Vio-Lence, Anthrax og mange flere legender fra 80-tallet.

I løpet av litt over to år har bandet blitt en hit i thrash metal undergrunden med over 4000 fans fra hele verden på bandets Facebookside. I 2010 ga bandet ut tre-spors EP'en "Human Mutation" som har blitt solgt både som fysisk kopi, samt på iTunes.

Videre ble de valgt ut til å spille på By:Larm i 2011 før de samme år dro til København, Danmark i Juli for å spille inn sitt debutalbum hos den legendariske Metallica-produsenten Flemming Rasmussen. Albumet "Based On Evil" kommer ut verden over hos Ultimhate Records 23. Mars 2012.

Bandet består av gitarist og vokalist Fredrik Bjerkø, lead-gitarist Per Semb, trommis Stian Sannerud og bassist Max Warnby.

Tantara is a thrash metal band from Norway, with influences like Megadeth, Heathen,Metallica, Vio-Lence, Anthrax and many other thrash metal legends mainly from the 80ʼs. The band has got a big fan base spread around the world with help of Facebook and YouTube. Since late 2009, the fan base on Facebook have grown from 0 to over 4000 fans.

In the summer of 2010, the band entered a local recording studio in Vestfold County. During a 3-day recording session, the band recorded 3 songs which they later that year (October) released independently as a digital EP, entitled «Human Mutation» via CDbaby.com, and later also iTunes. In December the same year, they also released the EP in CD-format with 200 limited copies, shipping in worldwide via PayPal.

Soon after the band released the EP, the band got in contact with the Danish engineer, producer, owner and founder of Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark (produced bands like Metallica, Morbid Angel, Blind Guardian, Evile + + +). The band then got an agreement with Flemming to record a full-lenght album in Sweet Silence Studios during 2011.

In February 2011, Tantara was chosed among 1.500 other artists and bands to play at a big music festival in Oslo, Norway. In January 2012, the band got a deal with Ultimhate Records, and their debut album called «Based On Evil» is set to hit the stores around different corners in the world on March 23rd 2012.
